We did a major reno before moving into our new condo (our forever home) & replaced all the existing flooring with engineered hardwood from Alexanian. Our contractor did a terrific installation job & covered the entire surface with cardboard for the remainder of construction. When it was revealed a month later, we discovered that Alexanian had supplied the WRONG COLOUR. It’s at least 3 shades darker and without any of the graduation in shades of the sample. It’s dark, dreary & shows everything. Their response was to shrug tell me that it is what it is. $12k down the drain. To replace will cost $15-20k since we will need to have it removed, plus all the other extras of floor replacement. And don’t buy the line about refinishing engineered hardwood - it can’t be done on a floating floor, which is the standard installation in a condo. I am beyond disgusted. Lesson learned: STAY CLEAR!
