Entrapment $$$

After an agreement that was made with the manager Tony to fix my hardwood floor that buckled in my dinning room, I was reassured he would take care of it. Finally, they came to do the job. After the installer arrived he commented that I had AC running which was a good thing (for humidity), when they ripped up the hardwood he asked me about a gap in the floor exposing the hardwood to the basement just above the laundry room and hot water tank basically the unfinished part of the basement and exactly where the hardwood buckled.. coincidence!? This is where things go wrong, I now get a call from Alexanian’s after the hardwood is all ripped up in my dinning room saying I owe $700 + tax because it was my fault that the problem was from humidity levels in the house. I’m now in shock…This was not agreed upon prior to the job. If I didn’t pay, he said he would not finish the job and walk out on me! I said, I feel like this is entrapment! He did not measure the humidity level in the house prior to the work being done just decided half way through the job it was my fault. I was right there with him when he started the job and said nothing to me! He claims it was not the gap in the floor that was the problem. If so, then there should have been a price agreed upon before they started the job if he already knew it was a humidity problem. I think he did not leave enough of a gap against the wall for the wood to expand and does not want to take the blame. I talked to Tony the store manager, he plays nice guy and talks in circles but will not pay me back my money. So much for their word it means nothing. What they say and what they do are two separate things.

Carpet and Transition

We got 5 star treatment from Alexanians when we ordered and had our main floor tiled, and two other rooms carpeted. The install was great with the exception of the transition from the kitchen floor to the family room. When the transition split Alexanians took 6 months of texting to order and install the new transition. Once it was installed we noticed that it was not the same as the tile as we had ordered before. After getting in touch with them multiple times we are told that they could order in the transitions but cannot be guaranteed that the transition will match, even if we supply the tile product number that they installed. They would have the transition part number from the one in the front hall that matches perfectly. We are close to a year and it doesn't see, like after us spending close to $15,000 they want to make this right. Great products, great installation, just don't understand not wanting to get the job done right. Andy

terrible experience

First I bring the measurements of the builder to the store to buy the material. I give the measurements to the man working there and he orders the material. One of the boxes they sent to me was the wrong material therefore we had to order it again. Then we had to order a lot of extra material because we did not have enough. Called back today for an eta when the flooring will be in. I am told it will take another week or so. It takes approx 2 weeks or longer to get material from them from my experience. Then I am told it is unacceptable and that the builder did not have the right measurements of the house from the manager Courtney. What awful service received by them. On top of sending me a wrong box, that should have been checked by the guy accepting my material, now they saying the builder has all the wrong measurements.....Instead of taking the blame, they are blaming me. They could have told me that these measurements are not a good idea and I should have the guy installing it provide them but no its all my fault. If I was told this when I was purchasing the material, I would have done this but now it is the customers faut for their mistake...they have caused me so much extra work and so much problems and stress.....but manager is blaming the customer.....Nice!!!!

Unacceptable Delivery Time

I purchased an area rug online on January 15, 2025. It has been almost a month and I still have not received it. I was given various dates when it would arrive from manufacturer. Once it did arrive I was told it was ready for courier pick up but that still has not happened. I called yesterday and was to be updated - no call or email received. I am beyond disappointed!

Will never go back!

Purchased an expensive wool carpet, Godfrey Hirst. Had many problems with the install, runner had to be replaced. Shortly after (3 weeks) i noticed the pile was crushing, so we addressed it with Alexanian. Inspections, claims, appeals, all denied. What is a warranty if they offer nothing but a steam clean?!! Stay away from Mohawk and GH, just do yourself a favor and research them before. Lots of warning signs.

Disappointed

In Jan 2023 had a laminate floor installed in my condo by Alexanian in Newmarket. Dust was unbelievable but I handled that. However the installer did a terrible job of the quarter round, using old wood, not applying everywhere and doing a terrible job on the corners. A year later and 2 boards have chipped. Their solution------just seal the chips. I can still see them and it upsets me every time.

Alexanian Carpet & Flooring Burlington

My wife and I entered the Store on Saturday September 30th between 4:30 and 5:00 we left the store feeling, clearly they don't need our business. Alexanian was the 3rd store we looked at for an Area Rug. They had, by far, the largest selection. We spent close to 15 minutes browsing without anyone even acknowledging we were in the store. When the salesman appeared (can't use a name because we think he was a salesman) he answered a question, that wasn't asked, and went back to the the back of the store. We ended up buying rugs from each from the other two stores. Probably explains why the parking lot was empty.

bad experience

cant believe this happened not happy my 1st time dealing with them king st location condescending sales staff then at the end couldn't full fill the order i paid for in advance due to their fault not inspecting a rug prior to selling it . totally unprofessional and will never deal there again i made large purchase of furniture to match the carpet selected that was not able to be fullfed as per agreement with no offer of help or compensation for time trouble and aggravation and told the carpet i selected a s was cheap carpet but yet it was real good to make the sale totally decussated with this location be warned when buying here so same doesn't happen to you

Well, at this moment in time, no. Mike Ghazarian stated he will contact me by the end of the day tomorrow to discuss what went wrong. Further explanation and outcome will be shared at a later time.

installation

I live in St. Catharines Ontario, dealing with the St. Catharines location. Completely unsatisfied. Do not buy from this place, they have carpet, but cannot install it. Also my laminate flooring adjoining the installation, is ruined. Do not trust Alexanian in your home. Crooks. period.
